DESCRIPTION
Learn to see, search for the soul of what you see. A photographer can look without seeing. They may look uniquely for what they want to see. They may look beyond what they can see, trying to reach more deeply and trying to grasp the soul of what is in front of their lens. For an artist, the act of looking is not only action; it is, above all, intention. Looking requires choosing the point of observation, what to look at, and how to do it. It also requires the right moment. There is no neutral gaze. There are gazes which are more devoted, more unerring gazes, harsher gazes, more experienced gazes. Gazes that don't conform to the first thing they manage to see. Gazes which are the salt of the earth, its revelation.
