This image is part of a series titled Dissonant. In the series I wanted to create images where there is a sense of tension, contemplation, and unease by combining things that don't necessarily fit together.

The dissonance in the images explores boundaries - between the macabre and the beautiful, perfection and imperfection, human and inhuman, dream and reality.

Based in Wellington, New Zealand, Lara strives to test boundaries in her photography - creating images that are edgy and vacillate between being disconcerting and delicately calm. Through her photography she explores the precipice between perfection and imperfection, human and inhuman, dream and reality.
