Gone Fishing: Emptiness in the Small Towns of the South (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Over the past year and a half I have been traveling to the small towns scattered throughout the Southern United States. Along the way I have discovered that all of these towns, though definitely inhabited, exude a feeling of comfortable emptiness. It is as if the population suddenly left, they just closed shop and vanished. I walk the streets, sometimes feeling like the lone inhabitant, collecting visual evidence of the previous population. My images are evidence there is still life in these towns, even if, for the moment, it seems to be on hiatus. Perhaps they have all gone fishing?
