This photo was taken on a cross country flight at night in January. The colorful glow is from many digital devices running all at once in a dimly lit cabin. The colorful display is what made me take notice.
In the digital age, you can hold thousands of books, movies, games, and more, in the palm of your hand. You can connect with heroes and empathize with villains in greater detail than ever before. But, as we more deeply immerse ourselves in this grand digital world, we begin to lose connection to the real world. We fail to take in the beauty around us, the richness, colors, smells and even tastes.
The digital aurora on display, is a beautiful byproduct of this era while a stark reminder of its pervasiveness. After all, while bright colors are beautiful in nature, they are also usually a warning of dangers lurking ahead.
