Abstract,
Collaborating with set designer Mireia Mendez, our reference imagery for the project drew much of its inspiration from cubism and abstract painting. We both wanted to make the photographs feel like a painting but have subtle hints that added a photographic quality. The prop sourcing was a mayor role in project. Each Image is a set which was constructed by Mireia. The objects needed to be a mix of flat block colours and textural/tined materials.
The idea of a painting having a perceivably flat perspective and a photograph having perspective naturally. The props Mireia constructed alluded to each of these traits. We used colour, tone and composition to create visually pleasing imagery.
