THE GLORY OF HEAVEN
The Islamic architecture of Iran is a source of inspiration for many Muslim architects in the MENA region. In this regard, I have tried to capture the beauty of the pattern making in the Islamic architecture of Iran. In the public historic buildings of Iran, ceilings have designed magnificently with the most glorious patterns to address the idea of heaven and the process of ascent towards the God (in the Islamic philosophy). Therefore, THE GLORY OF HEAVEN photo series addresses the beauty and complexity of pattern making in the Islamic architecture of Iran. The photos in this series have been taken in different cities such as Nayeen, Natanz, Isfahan, Zavareh, Yazd, and Abarkouh. For this photo series, I have spent a month to travel and visit the sites after the prior library research in Tehran (the capital city of Iran). Therefore, This series can be used and addressed by architects and artists as a referral research album. In short, THE GLORY OF HEAVEN photo series addresses the beauty of pattern making in Islamic architecture, the Islamic philosophy, and the position of ‘ceiling’ as an architectural element in the design of public spaces such as Friday mosques.
