Time Machine (Series)
DESCRIPTION
The series Time Machine explores how forms and depth can visualise and reveal infinity in an enclosed space by capturing Budapest’s Bauhaus and Art Deco staircases in an unexpected perspective. The images, centred on spiral stairwells from the 1930s and '40s. showcase space and time, as well as movement and supreme craftsmanship. The unusual perspective transforms these stairwells into abstract forms made infinite by collapsing depth—an effect akin to that of two mirrors facing each other. Thus evoking the idea of a Time Machine, creating portals on the space-time continuum.
