Conceptual nominee

With these photographs I took to exploring the pulse of nature by comparing the visual lines in pristine forest landscape scenes to those found in sound waves, heart monitors, the machines of today. Measuring devices we are now accustomed to. I created these photographs during a short trip just a couple of hours away from the busy city of daily life. The silence was astounding. Yet, one could feel the vibration of life - of nature.

Radina Droumeva is a mathematician turned artist. She creates works inspired by mindfulness, nature, and human psychology concepts. Her series are constructed by methodical process design ingrained from her scientific research background. She uses this aspect of her work approach to expose the power of the human imagination, and through it study the human relationship to our physical and social environment.
