The Lady of Shallot (Single)
DESCRIPTION
This shoot was a shared venture with the model/artist Tara Ozella and myself. We are both fans of John William Waterhouse’s iconic paintings of the Pre-Raphilite era, Lord Tennyson's poem, we decided to use a canoe filled with fabrics in soft colors, prints and textures to emulate our homage to the original.
AUTHOR
My career as a photographer began at 59 yrs old in 2013. I owned a camera for 4 years, and dabbled mostly in landscapes and wildlife photography. I struggled with the whole conception and understanding of light. At that time my husband Ed, was deployed to the Middle East, (Kuwait, Afghanistan, Jordan and Dubai) with a Medical Company. While he was away for 18+months, so I attended the Hallmark Institute of Photography. It was an everyday, all day, 7 days a week, 10 month, intense dive into the professional world photography. I had to keep up, compete, find models, clothe them, buy food and products to shoot for commercial work, learn lighting of all kinds while trying to find my own unique style, and no loose my mind. I am still working on that! Photography brings me such joy. I know I will never be a super star but sometimes touching the stars of the dream you create perfect.
I have been published in Magazines locally and won a few international awards.
