Mythos is a photographic series which refers to human mythology, sacred story, who consists in explaining our origins and cultural practices.
1) Hydra
In the Second Labor of Heracles, the Hydra of Lerna was a serpentine water monster in Greek mythology.(material:dead wood)
2) Alectryon and the morning chant
In Greek mythology, Alectryon who was assigned by Ares to stand guard outside his door while the god indulged in illicit love with Aphrodite. Cause he fell asleep on guard duty and Helios walked in. Ares punished Alectryon by turning him into a rooster. So, he will never forget to announce the arrival of the sun in the morning.(material:dead wood and scars on)
3)Chaos

4)Remanence of Eden
Drooping shapes recall the light veil of the fabrics and the shape at mid-height represents a fruit near the heart. it's a represention of the repressed desires of our humanity.(material:snow cover)
Lost Paradise:
In the christian Genesis, the humanity lost the paradise after biting the forbidden fruit. And now, he's alone to judge his actions.

Yvon Jolivet is a self-taught Quebec Canadian photographer who is known for his abstract, Beaux-Arts and minimalist style of photography. His style of photography is characterized above all by an emotional abstraction and a concentration on forms. It explores themes of transformation, fluidity and metamorphosis, evoking the processes of change and transition in the inner landscapes of the mind.
Since 2016, Yvon Jolivet's photographic work has been honored with numerous international awards, including gold, silver and bronze Awards in Fine Art and Abstract. His photographic work has also been presented in several Art exhibitions in different countries.
Yvon Jolivet is a professionnal member of RAAV (Regroupement des artistes en arts visuels du Québec) and CARFAC (Canadian Artists Representation)
