Since the 80's the last 'jewel of the forest', also known as the Golden Toad, hasn't been seen anywhere in the nature of Costa Rica. Costa Rica’s pre-Columbian indigenous groups had an animistic religion: they believed that al the elements of nature had ‘a life of there own with special power.’
Together with the designs of Ebby Port (clothing) and Gabriel Guevara (jewelry) AKATAK visualized 'a world on its own' and named the photoseries after this lost jewel of the forest: 'The disappearance of the Golden Toad'.
