Memories oftentimes are collective moments, which remain with us as a shadow, even though they are intangible. Inspired by a study on imperfection and unworthiness, I explored the vulnerable moments since my childhood and created a way for them to be seen and speak out loud.
Being the youngest one in the family, I always felt that I was not smart enough compared with others. This imprint remains in my collective unconscious, and is filled with self-judgment and shame.
This narrative portrait series captures some strongly vulnerable moments, intending to convey these unremarkable yet memorable moments affected how I feel and behave today. The emphasis of this series is not only on expressing a personal voice of my vision, but also embracing these moments in my life.
