Fine Art nominee

This project tells a story of my pregnancy across nine months of expecting to become a mom, from April 2017 to January 2018. It's a celebration of nature's powers in the incredible act of creation. Once a month I went to a local market or nearby meadow to get flowers, photographed myself and the flowers and then put the two together in post-production. The photos were taken on a black background in natural daylight. I chose to add flowers to the photos to show the close link between women and nature. The creative powers of nature are limitless and there is no better proof for that than a woman's pregnancy.

My name is Iga. I’m a dreamer, wanderer, photographer. I photograph what I feel and how I feel it. I create what my imagination shows me, illustrate the reality in a way that reflects my inner world. My works show the things that are dear to me – relationship with nature, sensitivity, complexity of heart and mind. There are things that cannot be put into words and photography helps me to express them.
