In a fear driven society one has to put on varied faces to cloak the paralyzing vulnerability of human emotions. Often, the true nature is camouflaged in the facade of worldly complexities. In this body of work I wanted to encapsulate these disguises. The play of shadows and colors in the backgrounds simulate the everyday commotion of our chaotic existence and various masks represent the fabricated, deceitful faces that we hide behind.
I used a traditional 4X5 camera with a digital back to capture an incredible range of light and to give it a beautiful soft focus quality.
