Landscape nominee

This series of photographs was taken in the town in Central Slovakia called Banská Štiavnica (UNESCO 11.12.1993) and its surroundings. It´s an important historical Slovak town which was mainly known by gold and silver mining and was significantly multicultural in the past. The photos feature the main dominants of the town as well as old mining water reservoirs. I had visited this town many times in 2017 hoping to take a good photo. Once there was a mist, then it was raining, then my car broke down on the way, and I didn´t even get there and so on. I didn´t get one good photo for the whole year. And then autumn came and the day 24th November was the day. As if feeling something I packed my stuff and at 2 a.m. I hit the road to try the luck again. The result is this unique series of photos.
