DESCRIPTION
An ostrich wanders below sand dunes in Namibia's Sossusvlei desert. Temperatures regularly reach over 100 degrees Fahrenheit here. I returned to these dunes over several days to capture the light at its best, and wait for this synchronicity of light, shape and context.
Oddly, just a short distance to the north, penguins nest where this desert meets the coastline.

He especially enjoys documenting the "limits of compassion" -- the dge of where people care about each other, animals, and the world around them.
