City lights through the GW Bridge at night (Single)
DESCRIPTION
I was shooting a commission of the George Washington Bridge from a park just slightly higher than the upper level roadway, and when I finished my work, I took a wrong turn (but as it turned out, the right turn) that took me a couple hundred feet under the bridge deck at a kayak launching ramp and looking up at some great photo ops. I spent the next 4 hours shooting from down under. The area I was in was also a park and I took this shot just as the park closed at 9 PM.
AUTHOR
With an education and a major portion of my earlier career in urban planning, I am obsessed with photographing the shapes, colors and textures of the built environment and studying its affect on our lives. I have recently given in to this obsession and changed careers to pursue my photography full-time. While I now live in New York City, I spent half of my life in small New England towns, so I may bring a different perspective to how we view the urban environment. I was fortunate enough to be chosen to do a solo exhibit , "Urban Images," at One Art Space in Chelsea (New York City)in August of this year and the gallery owner, Dan Giella, said that it was his most successful first solo show in his ten years of operation, based on sales and the opening reception's 200 attendees. I prefer to show my work exclusively in large format and metal. Website NYUrbanImages.com Instagram @LakeChar
