Nudes nominee

My main body of work right now consists of portraying the female beauty. When I asked Lais to take her picture I wanted to challenge myself with something that I was afraid of doing. Lais is a friend of mine, and a very strong woman, I really respect her and I am also very inspired by her. I chose to shoot her at the top of a very tall building. 35 Floors to be exact. I am really afraid of heights and I usually get vertigo, feel dizzy and weak whenever I am at a tall position. On the day of the shooting, it was especially windy for my hometown, so the whole shoot for me worked as a personal challenge. I'm so glad I went through this. Working with Lais was so inspiring that I felt calm and peaceful, the exact feeling I wanted to work with. This is precisely why I love working with women. Every single shoot is a different, personal experience, and I always learn more about myself. This series is shot with 35mm and medium format film.

Bruna Valença is a 26 year old brazilian photographer from Recife, Brazil. Fan of analog photography and dreamy aesthetics, her main body of work nowadays is focused on pure, real and transparent subjects. Graduated in Advertisement she also studied Cinema at Prague Film School, Czech Republic."
