I’ve been living in Israel for a long time. In this country family relationship and connection have very special status. There is no child house in Israel, neither orphans. Such question as “why does a child stay alone” and “why does he become an orphan” is an eternal question for me. In Russia the number of orphans grows up every year. Using my camera I wanted to acquaint the viewer with this problem, life of orphans and the reality. Photographing portraits, I always look for this special glance that makes everyone unique. Here there was no need to look for it, this unique glance was everywhere.
