Photomanipulation nominee

The spiral is, for me, the most intriguing and inspiring motif. In particular, the shape of the nautilus shell expresses the energy of the universe in an architectural form, and always makes me think about the ways in which this energy is at work on Earth. In this experimental work of art, I used digital enhancement to visually present my sense of the flow of energy within this shell. Doing so allowed me to once again glimpse a tiny universe.

Eriko Kaniwa is a digital artist based in Tokyo and the creator of SENSEGRAPHIA FINE ART. SENSEGRAPHIA is a conceptual redefinition of photography, and aims to develop and express the sense of nature through fine art that enables us to recognize that humans are a part of nature and its profound relationship with humans. Her artworks have been seen not only at the international Art Fair such as FOTOFEVER Paris or Barcelona Foto Viennale, but also in a major magazine such as British VOGUE, British GQ, HOUSE and GARDEN, LONDON LIFE MAGAZINE, and the other ART medias, CONTEMPORARY ART CURATOR MAGAZINE, OPENEYE, CREATIVPAPER and so on.
