There's a sort of childhood attachment to fairytales and mythology that follow me along my adult years, like magical patterns woven so tightly into my imagination that I can't help but portrait them.
I love how every botanical element has a more profound meaning and how it has been associated to tales and folklore in the past centuries up to nowadays.
So, in this picture, my subject represents Spring Heather, lying down on a bed of those vital bushes, to recall old Scottish legends and narratives on purple Heather flowers.
As a Fairy she's being portrayed enchanting the viewer with her charming eyes. Are you in the process of being taken away in the fairyland with her to never be found again?
From her strength and vigor spring, while, at the same time, she can only live in solitude because such otherworldly beauty requires the purest secret admiration.
