Transformation of the Ordinary (Series)
DESCRIPTION
A macro photographic study investigating the interaction of ordinary clear, colorless liquids and the intriguing surreal designs that form when the liquids are combined. A mixture of mineral oil, water, corn syrup, and glycerine is sitting on glass above a tablet with a blurred version of one of my photos displayed. This provides the light and the color for the clear, colorless liquids. The designs call on the viewer to tap into the subconscious mind to interpret their meaning. Faces, animals, and familiar objects begin to appear as the mind assembles the forms.
