On a winter day, I saw red! The red parachute jump; the “Eiffel Tower of Brooklyn.” The red sign inviting daredevils to enter the Thunderbolt roller coaster. The red pinwheel hailing strollers to pay attention to the entrance of Luna Park. The red throughout the Astro Tower topped with its sphere. The red top to the light house beckoning diners to the “Place to Beach” Tex-Mex cantina. The red oil barrel trash can punctuating this landscape. Even a figure wearing a red cap. All in pristine sharpness.
“Red is the great clarifier bright and revealing. I can't imagine becoming bored with red it would be like becoming bored with the person you love.” Diana Vreeland (1903-1989)

AUTHOR
I came late to the joy of photography after a 37-year career teaching modern European history and Economics. Born in Boston, a Girls' Latin School, Boston University, and Columbia Teachers College graduate, I now reside in New York City and generally photograph my immediate surroundings - parks, people, and paraphernalia. My images have been selected for numerous juried exhibitions in galleries. Last year I mounted an exhibition "Winter Gardens/See- heads" at a branch of the New York Public Library and was included in this year's Upstream Gallery (Hastings-on Hudson) "Photography Takes Over 2018." From May 2016-December 2017, I contributed a weekly column to the online blog "Mirrorless Photo Tips." I have also contributed photo essays to the West Side Rag, an online paper for the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
