Cityscape nominee

Every year in September, Luxembourg‘s big fair “Schuebefouer“ attracts thousands of visitors.
Every night people party in the midst of numerous fast food stands, bars, shiny lights and loud music.
I, however, wanted to experience the place once the shops are shut, the lights dimmed, the people left and silence dominated the place for a short period of time. I tried to capture the mood of this strange and slightly shabby world with a new series of photographs, wondering how to explain the weird attraction of fairs on our species.

Born in 1972 in the small town of Esch/Alzette in the industrial south of Luxembourg.
I started taking pictures aged 16, but buried my passion when I decided not to pursue art studies. I re-discovered my love for photography almost 20 years later, and today, it has become a passion keeping my creativity busy outside business hours.
Aesthetics and mood, with a touch of historical or documentary background, are important ingredients for my photographic projects.
I live with my wife and my two boys in Mamer, a small town bordering the capital of Luxembourg and can certainly be found behind a camera somewhere in the region.
