A year ago I had a complete mental breakdown. I become agoraphobic, suffered extreme anxiety and panic attacks and developed a stutter. I began my previous series, “The Albatross’ to record how I felt.
The Journey to Restoration is the story of what happened next. A series of stages towards healing. A much longer process than the original crisis.
From damage, fear and loneliness to putting myself back together, piece by piece. Culminating in Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing cracked or broken pottery. Where the broken pieces are joined with gold, becoming something new, stronger and more beautiful than they were before.
These images are self portraits, using natural light.

AUTHOR
I’m a photographic artist from the UK.
My images feel like they emerge from somewhere deep inside, the locked away regions you only reach in dreams. I aim to create images that make you feel and think. I find inspiration fin the world around me, something that catches my eye, something I find, lyrics from a song, words from a book: The outside world connecting with my inner world.

2016 Pandora's other box SKIN exhibition: 'Dawn,' 'Dusk'; The Horsebridge, Whitstable, Kent
2015 Soil Exhibition; 'Rebirth'; The Horsebridge, Whitstable, Kent
