Still life (Series)
DESCRIPTION
In this serie I search a contemporary way to work on still life classical subject.
I work in a minimalist approach, with few elements as possible in the composition, few colors and the scene is just lighted with a hand held flashlight.
Geometric and organic shapes,nature and culture are meeting.
AUTHOR
My first meeting with artistic photography was across art history lessons dispensed at Saint-Etienne Fine Art school where I was student.
Despite a personal work more oriented to sculpture and design at this time, I used photography to documentaries purposes, to keep a print of my works. It has been nearly the same along the fifteen following years and during those of my galerist and jewels creator activity which lead me to expose others creators' and my own artworks. Exhibitions and catalogs needed some tabletop photos witch can be reproduced on different supports.
Today, it's the creative aspect of numeric photography that I explore. . I mix painting, sculpture and photography to reinterpret the classical theme of Still Life through a personnal approach.
I always search minimalist compositions and creating a dialogue between man-made shapes and natural elements.
