I had been touring through Death Valley biding my time until early evening. I had picked this spot out earlier in the day as a great place for a sunset picture. When I arrived back at the spot it was overcast, gray, not so great and I knew there would be no colorfully dramatic sunset. Just as I was ready to pack up and head somewhere else the sun broke through the clouds and provided one of the most spectacular sights I have ever seen.
Zabriskie Point is a part of the Amargosa Range located east of Death Valley in Death Valley National Park in California, United States, noted for its erosional landscape. It is composed of sediments from Furnace Creek Lake, which dried up 5 million years ago—long before Death Valley came into existence.

I'm Michele. I'm a landscape and nature photographer.
Born in Wilmington, Delaware, and moved to Southeastern Pennsylvania in my teens. I still live in the area, a whole 16.2 miles from where I was born.
I've always enjoyed photography and it's been a wonderful way to escape the corporate "rat race" that I joined more than 33 years ago. I never thought I'd say I enjoy the "rat race", but over the years it's afforded me the luxury of travel and the pursuit of my photography. So THANK YOU rat race!
My intent is to simply uncover the beauty and complexity of mother nature.
Oh, one last thing. I received my professional photographers certificate from the New York Institute of Photography.
