Earth-bound animals leave traces, wherever they go. Flying birds do not. This series wants to visualize the traces that birds leave in the air when passing by. Alone or as a flock. And it also wants to show these imaginary traces in an imaginary world.
The photographs have been taken over a coastal wetland of the Danish island of Zealand. They are composed of multiple exposures taken as a sequence and subsequently combined into one picture by using specific algorithms.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
Born in Germany, I am an educated biologist having worked in Research and Development throughout Europe, and currently in Denmark. During all this time, nature photography was my predominant and private hobby. Using high-speed close-up photography I try to capture the graphical and sculptural art created by the physical phenomena of refraction, polarization and reflection of light by moving natural waters. I want to show to the beholder the marvelous artworks created by moving water. Generally, these artworks cannot be perceived by the human eye unless frozen in a photograph.
