Moon Cloud (Series)
DESCRIPTION
As I take up a position away from light pollution and behind nearby hills, I can never quite know exactly where the moon will rise until the tell tale glow increases in intensity at the horizon. Its only a matter of minutes from the first glimpse of its very edge until coming into full view; all the time decorating the passing cloud with its silvery glow until it finally rises into the diffused distance creating the illusion of a seascape when there is no sea: only bands of cloud that makes it appear so.
AUTHOR
I am an amateur photographer based in the UK. Having pursued landscape and travel photography in the past, getting works into a local gallery, Derbyshire Magazine and arts festival exhibitions, I started again with a new camera system in 2017. This allowed me to extend my scope and venture further into different genres. My first project was 12 months in duration which I scoped as 'Five Miles from Home' meaning that I would seek to use my imagination in locations almost exclusively in places seemingly very familiar to me. I was sure that there could be more to discover 'on my doorstep' so my aspiration was to rediscover what I had known for many years with intent to portray it in either ways that I had not previously seen it or from a perspective that delves ever deeper into the detail of my home environment.
