Nudes nominee

When it is about blindfolding women, even if beautifully thought and done, it is very difficult to overcome the negative aspects of "domination", if not "humiliation" factors. We just tried our best with my collaborators to avoid such impressions. Finally we are convinced that nothing like that came out from these pictures. That is why, they are our humble contribution to this great event. Of course, all pictures are realised with expired instant films, without any significant post-production treatment.

Hi! I'm Seckin Erel, alias Axakadam. My life, begun in Istanbul 54 years ago, has been spent in Strasbourg for the past 22 years or so. I am unfortunately bewitched by feminine nude photography, simply because my timid nature. It all begun the day I found a Polaroid SX-70 at a flea market, at a time when films were refreshingly accessible to my pocket. One fine day, however, my two Muses and I parted ways and I found myself alone with a sixth-hand Nikon F3. Analogue photography was a joyful experience until the day the only shop I could fully trust to develop my nude negatives went bankrupt. After a brief spell of digital frustration, distinguished by hundreds of hours of lamenting the allmighty Photoshop, I have immersed myself yet again in the packs of instant films, of all possible formats and expiry dates, with all sort of chemical suprises helping me somehow to catch an accessible spark of womanhood behind its inacessible tempest. I know this is not a great achievement, but it is endless enough. So far, I have been honoured to participate to instant photography exhibitions in Caen, Arles and Paris. God bless the light!
