Collapse is a series initiated in 2018. It leads me to consider ruin as a metaphor for our sick planet. Images of melting ice, pollutions and severe weather phenomena are now part of the social imaginary through the greatest reporters and scientists’s works. Problem, serious, is real. But shown in all its harshness, it’s as seen through filters, the feeling of powerlessness, contempt, or fear. Here, it is about examining in front of areas where meet natural and human forces, looking for signs of collapse. Photographing walls, "au pied du mur" is a way to materialize the anxiety or the mental state of denial facing these issues, without be limited to a specific locality. This approach to the climate issue allows me to question: "What if it affects our homes, our walls ?" My camera becomes a stethoscope, my photography, radiography.
Here is an exemple of my vision of iceberg, ice floe, air pollution, desertification (lands), sudden rise of river.

DESCRIPTION
AUTHOR
Tiphaine Populu de La Forge is a french artist born in 1987 who lives and works in Tours (France). She studied art history and french litterature, teached and was introduced to photography by two generations of photographs, after she restored a wooden studio camera that belong to his grandfather. Her work consists in evocation of memory, passing time and suffering which manifest themselves throught material decay and relation between humans being and their environment. Enclosed spaces and decay are leitmotif and constitue her artistic language usually based on longue exposures, blending focusing on sceneries into dissolution of the flesh when she photographs bodies, especially her own. When she approaches the color, it’s through synesthesia that leads her to look for the right note.
