Forgotten Crows (Series)
DESCRIPTION
I'm surrounded by birds of many kinds in my locality but none more so than the crows. I've become accustomed to them being around and I think some of them to me and, despite their reputation, I began to see them with a growing fondness. Though they harass our widely loved birds of prey and occasionally bring one down, I started to see a pagan like beauty in their darkness and began to think of them as forgotten. With these thoughts combining I though to put them into forgotten scenes like old photographs that could be lying in old attics anywhere amongst other forgotten things
AUTHOR
I am an amateur photographer based in the UK. Having pursued landscape and travel photography in the past, getting works into a local gallery, Derbyshire Magazine and arts festival exhibitions, I started again with a new camera system in 2017. This allowed me to extend my scope and venture further into different genres. My first project was 12 months in duration which I scoped as 'Five Miles from Home' meaning that I would seek to use my imagination in locations almost exclusively in places seemingly very familiar to me. I was sure that there could be more to discover 'on my doorstep' so my aspiration was to rediscover what I had known for many years with intent to portray it in either ways that I had not previously seen it or from a perspective that delves ever deeper into the detail of my home environment.
