After my wife left me and took my son last October. I said to myself, "screw it." I am going to Rio de Janeiro this Christmas and New Year’s instead of moping around in my room. Life's hardships can't hold me down forever. I'll punch it back in the face and break free this holiday. This attitude is really what Brazil is all about. Despite poverty and an average income of $900.00 USD a month. People in Rio know how to punch life back too and enjoy life. These photos document the Brazilian way.
