Panoramic nominee

For more than 30 years I have been fascinated by the world of microcrystals.
To enter this world you need a polarizing microscope, the substance that I photograph, we melted between a slide and a coverslip.
After a time that can be seconds or even days, the substance crystallizes, with the naked eye it looks as if it were ice flowers. Only under the microscope in cross polarized light the whole splendor of colors and structures can be seen. These panoramas were taken from 5-7 shots that I took upright and overlapping, added to a panorama in Lightroom and further edited in Photoshop.

Peter Juzak (60) is a bookbinder as well as a graphic and desktop publisher. He has been conducting experimental photo studies on micro crystals for more than 30 years. He has worked for Bayer Vital GmbH and was author and photographer for Medicalpicture GmbH.
