This is a project focusing on candid portraits taken through trains windows in an urban environment, seemingly depicting people’s true and melancholic emotion from their temporary “private sphere” created in public space.
Once getting on a train, one seeks a seat or space where they work on building a cocoon for themselves to get away from all the ongoing daily matters. And, very importantly, train windows serve as an emotional filter, through which people let out their emotions, a kind that they would never show to anyone else.
Instead of looking at different corners of the streets, these filtered, and now-visible emotions seem to better represent the reality and current situations of the city.
And today from dawn to dusk, carrying many kinds of complex emotions, city trains are running and taking all these city dwellers from one place to another.
