Manish K. Gupta, P.E., Ph.D. (Single)
DESCRIPTION
In the year that this portrait was taken, after decades working in the engineering company founded by his father, Manish purchased the controlling interest in the company from his then-retiring father, becoming its President and CEO. I had heard from more than one person that the headshot of Manish on the company website had somehow made them underestimate Manish. As part of taking new photographs for a revised company website, I intended to take portraits of him that would make certain that no one seeing them would be influenced to underestimate him again. This was the photograph from our session that went furthest beyond the realm of corporate headshots, the involved the most complicated lighting, and that wound up pleasing both him and me the most of any from our session.
