DESCRIPTION
Kecak Dance, a trance ritual dance based on Ramayana Hindu epic. Monkey dance or fire dance. The choir group consists of 50 or more male dancers, neatly wrapped in black and white checkered garments, singing, “cak…cak…cakcakcakcak…cak…” sitting, cross-legged in a circle. Some liken the noise they make to the sound of a group of monkeys, while others claim it is just a sound that is produced to scare enemies. Monkeys and White Monkey King Hanuman help Prince Rama fight the evil King Ravana and save kidnapped Princess Sita. Location in Uluwatu sea temple, on a 70 meter high cliff above ocean is magical.
