As an artist, I developed a series of photographs that speak to immigrants and their descendants about their cultural identity. In my work I used memories of my families native country-- The Dominican Republic. The photographs represent different parts of Dominican culture such as the cuisine, religion, music, dance, and people.
The colors of the Dominican Flag are present in each one of the photographs. Those colors represent the historical Dominican reservoir: blue is liberty, white is salvation, and red represents the blood of the heroes. Wherever immigrants go they wear those colors with them.
