"Cruel Flowers" is a project about the idea that every human connection is a form of appropriation.
In the search for ideal beauty, others are projecting of women their own fantasies. Dreaming about the impossible, might make them desire the possible. Becoming self aware of being looked at by others, she starts to view herself as an object for them. Their eyes lay upon her and she experiences a metamorphosis. The others see her in the way that they want to see, and she only lives through the veil they have imagined for her. The woman becomes their sculpture, a still-life dispossessed of her self-being.
