We do not perceive animals as creatures with feelings and emotions. They just live for our satisfaction. We use and exploit dogs, cows and monkeys for animal testing, we kill them for our meal and torture them for our entertainment. They are just a tool for our consumption. We just see the finished product in the supermarket or the funny side of animal tourism. We do not think about their suffer, fear and their deaths. We do not want to think about it, because otherwise we would have to change something...what an impertinence.
