I had taken this photo in Martin Mere Wetland in UK. Was this bird belong to that place? Not really. It was away from its motherland for sure, and its not belonging to those lands anymore too. Sad? Maybe.
I wanted to create an atmosphere that, this bird is belonging to another world, a timeless place in space. While its appearence is changing with all those vibrant colours, its existence seem to get more real, whilst being abstracted from its environment.
It's so real. But also it doesn't exist.

AUTHOR
I was born in Istanbul in 1976. I had a degree in Prehistory and also had my master degree in War History. I worked in some archeological excavations for about 5 years, before starting to work in various magazines and newspapers as a photographer and then as an editor for over 15 years. In 2016, I moved to UK, after marrying my husband. Now as a mum of a nearly 2 years old son, I've started my own photography business here a couple of months ago.
With over 15 years experience in journalism, photography has always been a lifestyle for me, beyond being a profession. I always see it as a way to communicate to the world outside of myself.
I never hesitate making changes in my life, but becoming a mum, transformed me all over. I want to leave something good to my son and make him to be proud of his Mum. So, I am back in photography business again, trying to improve my skills every passing day and trying to catch 'that' perfect photo one day.
