Landscape nominee

These photographs were made in Belgium. I had seen some Summer photographs of these trees and envisioned them in Winter time.

Early in February I set out to find them. They are located at the Hautes Fagnes, but aren't easy to find. With the Winter conditions hiking to these Skeleton Trees was an adventure of its' own. Temperatures were well below 0 C and the snow was knee deep. I didn't find the trees until the second weekend I went out there.

When I came to the site the conditions were perfect. Cold but beautiful this location has an arctic aura about it and the Skeleton Trees are magnificent with their strange forms and shapes.

I wil certainly return when weather conditions are arctic again.
