shades of blue (Series)
DESCRIPTION
My artistic approach in photography evokes almost always essay-like series: like an astonished child I explore the emanations of the visible world through my camera, moving around people, places, things in an ongoing investigation and endless effort to grasp. The glacial lagoon called Jökulsárlón in the South of Iceland shows different shades of blue ice due to a selective absorption of all colors except blue caused by the low amount of airbubbles enclosed in the ice. This scientific knowledge adds to the impressive calm of a landscape in sharp contrast to the permanent threat by volcanic activity, ready to show its power to shape the world anew.
