Landscape nominee

Nestled in the sleepy early morning light were too many boats to count. The marina was looking like a ghost filled place, with the ominous looking sky above which was filled with bulbous rain clouds. The blanket of cloud cast it's textured and shapely reflection upon the water's surface.

Within each boat I could only imagine the stories they could tell of their sea-bound adventures, given a voice.

The water has always fascinated and scared me at the same time. I felt a sense of excitement at the thought of the many adventures one could take, given the opportunity to jump aboard one of the magnificent vessels.

As the sun began to rise from deep beneath the horizon, along with it came the hint of a golden glow that brightened up the almost black and white scene infront of me.

Such beauty can be found no matter the weather conditions!

Sandi Barry is a Fine Art Landscape Photographer and Visual Communicator, who has always been passionate about photography. A desire to learn more about processing and cataloging led Sandi to obtain an Advanced Diploma in Visual Communication and Photo Communication. Having discovered new interests along the way, such as Typography and Type Crafting in a Graphic Design context has allowed Sandi to go beyond taking a photograph.

Sandi loves the ability of photography to capture single moments in time, moments that can never be the same again, as a visual reminder of the beauty, the fragility, and the magnificence of life. Sandi's aim is to use photography to share all that she sees in the world.

Sandi firmly believes that the possibilities and outcomes of images are only limited by the imagination. In her photography, Sandi is passionate about nature, adventure, travel and working with natural light. Sandi aspires to create new products full of meaning and joy, making our lives richer, either through their innate beauty or for feelings they evoke in the holder.
