Limbo (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Limbo is a project that explores my feelings about San Francisco, the first city I’ve lived in that, doesn’t feel like home to me. Through a series of nude self-portraits, I represent my feeling of disconnection, and each photo shows a specific place in San Francisco where I’ve tried to find a sense of belonging. Giving more emphasis to the surroundings than to myself, I demonstrate how small I have felt in this vast city and hope that the spectator can feel the limbo I have felt. The nudity represents my awkward feelings, my Converse shoes represent my connection to past experiences, and the suitcase symbolizes my desire to take what I’ve learned with me.
AUTHOR
When I was growing up in Puerto Rico, art was always a significant part of my life. From dancing to painting, I have always searched for platforms to express my creativity. I was inspired to experiment with a camera, I was immediately hooked, and soon thereafter I acquired my own camera and began to experiment. I knew I had found my calling.
With time I was able to polish my skills as a conceptual fine art photographer and documenting cultures on my travels abroad, is the way I perceive time and space that shows my unique style of seeing the world.
