On Rue Roy, in Paris, France, four mounted police riders blocked the way of the demonstrators. Behind them, a car burns and a civil protection truck tries to make its way through. A major police operation prevented the demonstrators from reaching the planned meeting point on the Champs-Elysées. The dispersal of the demonstrators created scenes of chaos throughout the city. Flaming barricades were set up and many violent clashes took place with the police. Starting from an opposition to a new fuel tax, the yellow vest movement has grown and testifies to a fed up of the middle and working classes in the face of the tax injustice they consider themselves victims of.

Born in 1990 in France, Mathias Zwick is a freelance photographer member of Hans Lucas Agency. His interest in photography began with his passion for skateboarding. As a teenager he spent his time walking down the streets of Strasbourg filming and taking pictures of his friends skateboarders.
After his masters in Intellectual Property and a first job as a lawyer in a french broadcasting group, he decided to store his suit and tie on a shelf to devote all his time to photography.
His old passion for skateboarding has led to his first work on Iranian youth at the end of 2015. This work about Iranian skateboarders has been published in several medias all over the world and exhibited during the festival Circulation(s) in Paris, France. On top of his interest in street photography and portrays, Mathias wants to explore all the fields of documentary photography and photo reportage willing to provide a fresh perspective on current topics.
