Wildlife/Animals nominee

Since the 1930’s, there is a small population of Flamingo’s just across the border in Germany.
In winter they wander off and sometimes they show up in the Netherlands.
At sunrise I was already lying near the shore to get images of some nice behaviour.
I stayed there for several hours in the cold, but it was worth waiting every minute.

I am from the Netherlands and since the age of eight I take pictures.
I have a special interest in animals and landscapes.
When I was twelve years old I bought my first SLR camera and started exploring nature. At first only birds, later on mammals and landscapes.
Particularly the light at sunrise and sunset are my favorite.
I like to capture special behaviour of animals.
During my travels round the world I visited the tropical Amazon rainforest, as well as the arctic. Especially the arctic in the fall are my favorite.
I won the first prize at the EU Photo contest category Wildlife.
