What I love most about photographing dogs is how instantly it turns me into the most present, joyful version of myself. Dogs bring out the most loving emotions in me within mere seconds of interacting with them and I wholeheartedly enjoy every minute spent capturing their unique selves for it. Fortunately, this joy-igniting effect usually works both ways and I can bring out the same joyfulness in them too.
The dog in the photograph is called Nexie. She is the second dog I have ever photographed in a studio, and the photograph captures the moment when she realized that despite her initial shyness, being in front of a camera might be a fun experience after all.
