'Water is the softest thing. Yet it can penetrate mountains and earth. This shows clearly the principle of softness overcoming hardness' - Lao Tzu.
Water is not afraid to fall, it adapts itself so gracefully to its surroundings, it is gentle but so strong. Water is life, it comes in many forms and is always changing, When there is peace and stillness water brings reflection and clarity. Water nurtures resulting in a colorful bloom and yet it has a beautiful kind of simplicity and patience. I think we can learn a lot from it.
These minimalistic oil and water images suggest stillness and peace, that convey the seemingly contradictory qualities of water as soft but powerful. They capture the beauty of the - ever changing - moment. Most images don't have a fixed orientation but can take on different forms, just as water.
Meditating on the element of water, and emulating its qualities, can allow us peace, growth, inspiration, and harmony with our surroundings.
