Sequoia Obscura (Series)
DESCRIPTION
Sequoia Obscura, is a series of works documenting the unlit recesses of Coastal Redwood Trees (Sequoia Sempervirens), an endangered lifeform that grows to be the kind of tree on Earth. Utilizing lighting techniques honed over the course of the last year, the aim of the series, is to provide a new portrait of the ancient lifeforms. A portrait that honors that their cycles of growth, decay and regeneration unfold over the course of millennia. A portrait that hopes to advance another sense of their beauty, by documenting the colorful harbors of life latent in their otherwise, obscure depths.
